The iSellMobile Awards celebrated its sixth annual awards winners at the Ministry of Sound in London, with manufacturers, retailers and their staff taking home prestigious titles.
Vodafone scored their first ever Product Mastermind success, with the team beating EE and Three in a live final to decide which company’s staff have the best product knowledge. Vodafone also took home the Big Boss title, with the company’s head of retail Jon Shaw being voted as the best in the industry by store staff.
EE meanwhile gained recognition for its business culture, staff development and pay structures after votes from and interviews with its staff on these areas secured it the new category of Best Retailer to Work For.
Carphone Warehouse won the lion’s share of the people categories, with Stuart Bonner from their Glasgow Braehead store winning the Bright Idea award for innovation in retail, Wesley Fletcher from Carphone Maidstone winning one the night’s biggest awards, the Store Manager of the Year Award, and Wesley’s team also taking home Team of the Year.
Elsewhere in retail, Seth Jackson secured an important trophy for Three by winning Area Manager of the Year, while Daniel Hulse from Runcorn impressed judges to win the Contact Centre Champion title for Tesco Mobile
Sony’s Dom O’Brien secured the support of voters and judges alike to take home Trainer of the Year, with the judges praising his innovative use of mixed media online to boost Sony’s training reach and frequency.
Other Manufacturer winners included Samsung, who took home Best Flagship Launch in Retail and Phone of the Year, both for their Samsung Galaxy S7 edge device.
Alcatel also enjoyed their first ever iSellMobile Awards win, with UK & Ireland director William Paterson accepting the Budget Phone of the Year accolade for their Alcatel Pop 4 handset.
Huawei also had their most successful iSellMobile Awards to date, with their Honor 7 partnership with Three winning Best Network Exclusive, and the company as a whole taking home Best Manufacturer Training Portal after being recognised for the speed in which they’ve launched and grown their online training tools.
