Which retailers come out on top

Voted for by customers | Mobile Choice Consumer Awards 2017

There was certainly a buzz in the air at this year’s Mobile Choice Consumer Awards and it wasn’t due to phone vibrations. Rather, the charged atmosphere was due to a successful night celebrating the best devices, services and incredible achievements of the last year in association with headline sponsor Motorola.

The best members of the industry descended on 8 Northumberland Avenue to witness the 17th running of the awards, which this year was combined with the might of TechRadar to see two titans of the phone world join forces to commemorate the best in the industry.

The evening started with a sparkling champagne reception, sponsored by Huawei and finished with a fantastic DJ set and dancefloor fun at the afterparty.

Since August TechRadar and Mobile Choice’s 27 million readers have been voting for their favourite brands, services, retailers and handsets and host Colin Murray unveiled the results brilliantly to great applause.

The biggest names in mobile technology were in attendance, with the Vice President of Samsung UK IT and Mobile, Conor Pierce, showing his support. Samsung went on to have a prolific evening, winning no fewer than three awards. Scooping the highly coveted Phone of the Year award and the Best Camera award for the Galaxy S8, Samsung also claimed the gong for Manufacturer of the Year.

However, Samsung wasn’t alone in its success, with Three scooping a fitting three awards for Best Network for Roaming, Best Network for Data and TechRadar Deal of the Year, sponsored by Future’s very own money-saving Hawk platform.

Carphone Warehouse was voted Best High Street retailer , Vodafone won Best In-Store Customer Experience and O2 won Best Customer Care

Honor dialled up the momentum of the evening, picking up two accolades for Best Mid- market Phone (the Honor 9) as well as the impressive One to Watch award.

EE stole the gong for Best Network, whilst Amazon was dubbed Best Online Retailer to join the legions of other award-winners to round out a thoroughly successful evening, with attendees already looking forward to next year.
