Welcome to Store Manager of the Year 2011
We are delighted to bring you the biggest and best Store Manager of the Year competition, in association with HTC.
Store Manager is your chance to give your career a boost by getting yourself noticed by your company bosses - and you could be in line for the £1,000 prize!
The first thing you have to do is enter.
Store managers can nominate themselves or be put forward by colleagues. here's how the competitions works.
The Nomination Stage
Any store manager can nominate themselves or be put forward by their staff. But only 10 will go into the Face Off round with a chance of reaching the final.
All of the potential contestants will face a public vote to decide which of them go through to the next round. So, it’s really important that contestants get their staff and colleagues to vote for them at this stage!
The Face-off Stage
The Face-off stage involves a series of five one-on-one ‘face-offs’ between managers, based on each contestant’s pitch as to why they should be crowned Store Manager of the Year and their answers to a management task we set them.
People will be asked to vote for whoever they think is the best manager. But the public vote will only account for 50% of the score. The other 50% will be decided by the Store Manager judges. The judges will make their decision based on the quality of comments made by people on each of the contestants and their answers to the management task.
Contestants need to get their staff and colleagues to make useful and insightful comments as to why they should be chosen. You can spread the word via email and Face Book. Each Face-off winner’s store will be awarded a prize by Store Manager sponsor HTC.
The five Face-offs rounds will run from August until November.
The five winners will automatically go through to the final. However, one of the remaining five contestants will also join them after a wild card vote to decide who should go through.
The Final Stage
The six finalists will then be invited to attend the final judging day in London in late November, where they will be put through their paces by the Store Manager judges.
